Sea to Summit is currently available in over 60 countries. HOW WE GOT HERE The brand originated in Roland Tyson's bedroom on an antique treadle powered sewing machine in Perth, Western Australia in 1983. Lightweight outdoor products were hard to find in Australia in those days, so Roland decided to make his own. One day in 1990 Australian mountaineer, Tim Macartney-Snape, approached Roland to make gear for his upcoming expedition a first ascent of Mt Everest from sea level to the summit. Because technically, you havent climbed Everest completely if you dont start at the sea, as this is from where mountains are measured. This seemed nothing but logical to Roland, who was not much into taking shortcuts himself. After travelling 745 miles under his own steam, walking, running or even swimming Tim stepped foot on the highest point of earth, becoming the first person to climb Mt Everest from Sea to Summit. The name of the expedition became the name of the brand, that now consists of a big range of innovative gear for any kind of outdoor adventures, from extreme expeditions to family car camping trips.Sea to Summit Head Office Address
