ROKA award-winning restaurants serve contemporary Japanese robatayaki cuisine in striking yet informal surroundings. 2014 saw us celebrating our 10th anniversary and the opening of two new London restaurants in Mayfair and Aldwych.\r\n\r\nThe name ‘ROKA’ translates as ‘buzz around fire’; seating radiates from the centrally located robatayaki grill where food is prepared in full view of diners at the surrounding counter and tables. Expertly prepared sushi and sashimi compliment the warm grilled dishes, while our pastry chefs never fail to impress with the delicate artistry of their creations.\r\nService at ROKA is relaxed and informal, however customer care is of the highest priority and is never compromised. Our waiters are intimately familiar with every dish on the menu and are always at hand to offer advice or even design a menu for guests. Our sommeliers are notable for their extensive knowledge of Japanese sake and our innovative cocktails feature hand-carved ice and house-made infusions and liqueurs.\r\nROKA's interior design is a striking and important feature of the business. Our first three sites were created by Noriyoshi Muramatsu, in collaboration with Tokyo's esteemed Super Potato architecture and design company. ROKA Aldwych saw a collaboration with renowned designer Claudio Silvestrin, who had previously worked with owner Rainer Becker at Oblix restaurant in The Shard. Staff uniforms, furniture and even upholstery are designed exclusively for the restaurants and made to the highest specifications. \r\nOur first location - ROKA Charlotte Street - opened in July 2004. In 2014, we launched ROKA Mayfair, which was joined by ROKA Aldwych later in the year.
