History
Irving Cares was organized in 1957 by citizens who were interested in the welfare of the needy people in the community. Since 2001, Irving Cares has achieved United Way’s #1 stewardship rating for fiduciary management and board oversight. In 2005, Irving Cares received the City of Irving’s Housing & Human Services Department Award for Outstanding Community Partner. Charity Navigator announced again in 2016 that Irving Cares earned a 4-star rating. This ‘exceptional’ rating indicates Irving Cares outperforms most charities in operating in the most fiscally responsible way possible.
