Functionality:
- ‘Push the bit' 12' long rotary steerable tool
- Full 3D directional control with build, drop and turn
- Everything rotates, reduces friction and LIH risk
- Can drill vertical, back build and horizontal sections.
- Tool is able to hold Inclination and Azimuth through downlink commands.
Principle of Operation
- Steering section uses 6 hydraulically operated pistons to ‘push' against the wellbore and steer in the opposite direction
- Pistons achieve their force by diverting 5% of the drilling fluid into the steering chambers
- Non-magnetic collar contains an electronic control system with a 6-axis accelerometer / magnetometer package
- Turbine-powered electronics control system
