The City of McCall is a four-season, recreation-oriented community in central Idaho, approximately 100 miles north of Boise. McCall is notable for the wide variety of nearby outdoor recreation opportunities, high percentage of second homes, and annual Winter Carnival. The resident population is 2,991 (2010 Census), but the area population grows dramatically during the peak summer and winter seasons. McCall is a full-service city, providing police protection, water and wastewater service, street maintenance, a 27-hole municipal golf course, and an airport with a 6,100' runway, among other services.
The City has an annual budget for FY12 of 14.7 million dollars. The City has 74 regular employees and hires 20 to 25 temporary seasonal employees each year. The organization is made up of ten departments consisting of: Police, Community Development, Public Works (including Streets, Water, and Sewer), City Clerk, Finance, Parks and Recreation, Municipal Airport, Library, Golf Course, and Information Systems.
