The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art's (UMOCA's) mission is to advance and elevate the community of contemporary arts and culture, establishing Utah as a leading voice for the spirit of innovation, experimentation and dialogue surrounding the issues of our time. Since its founding in 1931, UMOCA has challenged and delighted visitors through its delivery of exhibitions, art education, and community engagement. The Museum’s rich past has resulted in the creation of a cornerstone for contemporary culture in Utah, providing for artistic experimentation, community enrichment, and connection to the world as it occurs through our related experiences. Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, UMOCA strives to be a place where all points of view, experiences, and ages feel welcome to explore the pressing issues of our time through socially relevant art exhibitions and programming. UMOCA is a four-time recipient of funding from the Andy Warhol Foundation and a two-time recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Art Works Grant Award. Admission is a suggested $5 donation.
