Arlington Independent Media (AIM) is a nonprofit membership organization and community media center in Arlington, Virginia. We provide training and access to media technologies and facilitate the creation of video, audio, web and digital content. AIM is committed to cultivating the voices in our community that might otherwise not be heard.
Since 1982, AIM has continuously provided a video production equipment, facilities, training, and access to a basic cable television channel to all on a first-come, first-served basis. Our members use their skills to produce powerful local media content that highlights the people, places, organizations, businesses and events in our community. Our video programming can be found on in Arlington County on the two public access cable television channels we operate: Comcast channel 69 and Verizon channel 38.
AIM's facility, located in Clarendon just off Wilson Boulevard, is equipped with the latest in media-making tools including an HD three-camera television studio, a state-of-the-art audio production suite, portable audio and video equipment, two editing stations, a Mac computer lab, a mobile production van, and more. With the historic launch of WERA-LP 96.7 FM, Radio Arlington (www.wera.fm) in December 2015, AIM continues needs of the diverse population of Arlington County and the DC metro area in exciting new ways.
