The Center for Youth Ministry Training (CYMT) equips youth ministers and churches to develop theologically informed and practically effective youth ministries.
Graduate Residency in Youth Ministry
CYMT brings together churches and youth ministers to create life-changing youth ministries. The Graduate Residency at CYMT is designed to blend theological training with practical experience in the local church – a unique approach that develops theologically informed and practically effective youth ministries. Real world experience is gained by working as a part-time youth minister at a local partnership church. At the completion of the three year residency, students will receive a Master's of Arts in Youth from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Placement Program
Do you need a job, practical training, and theological education? CYMT provides a three-year job placement program that matches graduate residents with partner churches throughout Texas and the Southeast, where they serve as the youth director while participating in the CYMT program. You will gain practical experience while earning a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry.
Professional Youth Ministry Track
Are you looking for a way to get a masters degree without leaving your job? Are you ready to develop your skills for ministry so that you can strengthen your ministry? Apply to CYMT’s Professional Youth Ministry Track. You will receive receive coaching, training, and be enrolled in the Master of Arts in Youth Ministry degree.

May 15 – Final Consideration Deadline (space permitting)
Churches can apply to receive a graduate resident to be placed in their church.
CYMT was founded in 2006 by Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN, and First Presbyterian Church.
