The organization seeks to advance the causes President Reagan held dear and to memorialize the accomplishments of his presidency.\r\n\r\nRonald Reagan’s unwavering dedication to individual liberty and democracy are the primary focus of the Foundation’s work. In 2008, the organization launched a global initiative to educate youth about the vital role Ronald Reagan played in the fall of communism and the spread of democracy throughout the world. The first major step in this endeavor was the opening of a permanent Ronald Reagan exhibit at the Checkpoint Charlie Museum in Berlin in November 2009. Plans for other similar exhibits are underway in countries across central Europe. \r\n\r\nIn the summer of 2010, the Foundation will commence the Liberty Education Tours, the cornerstone of the organization’s work. This exciting student exchange program offers future leaders tangible education in the principles of liberty as they study the words and actions of President Reagan and other great leaders while visiting sites significant in the history of freedom in the United States and abroad.\r\n\r\nThe Foundation also supports institutions and non-profit organizations that conduct education and research on the presidency of Ronald Reagan such as the Young America’s Foundation "Reagan Ranch Project" and the Ronald W. Reagan Leadership Program and museum at Eureka College, the President’s alma mater. \r\n\r\nFinally, the Reagan Legacy Foundation honors those that serve aboard aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) by offering scholarships for sailors and airmen and their family members.
