We provide financial services, including accounts, home and personal loans, debit and credit cards, and insurance, but were not a bank. Were a mutual building society; the difference being that were owned by our customers, not by shareholders. That means profits go back to our customers as better interest rates and competitive fees; and we support communities we operate in through extensive sponsorships and financial grants to good causes. Newcastle Permanent was established in 1903. Were the largest building society in Australia and financially one of the strongest customer-owned banking institutions. Were regulated just as the big banks are under the Banking Act 1959 (Cth), and supervised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). As our saying goes, were Here for Good.
