Ceres Community Project is a non-profit organization that brings teenagers into the kitchen and garden to learn about growing, cooking and eating healthy food. The teens volunteer as the program's chefs, preparing hundreds of meals each week for families that are dealing with cancer and other serious illnesses. We currently have four program sites and eleven Ceres-trained projects around the country. Our programs sites are in:
~Sebastopol kitchen
~Sebastopol garden
~Santa Rosa kitchen, cafe and catering
~San Rafael kitchen
Most meals - almost a weeks worth of food for each family - are free and delivered right to low-income client's homes by 'Delivery Angels". All these aspects work together to help create healthier people and a healthier community. This is an organization that builds community, connection and compassion.
