Denver Film's mission is to develop opportunities for diverse audiences to discover film through creative, thought-provoking experiences. The cinema's potential to transform as well as reflect society in all its diversity is what the Denver Film aims to recognize and realize. Since 1978, DFS has worked to promote the medium as both an art form and a civic forum, developing a program that includes year-round screenings, community outreach projects and renowned special events. Denver Film's permanent home, the Sie FilmCenter, opened in November 2010 and has helped expand our original programming and community partnerships. In addition to screening more than 600 titles annually, Denver Film hosts an array of programs and events to connect and educate filmgoers-including Film on the Rocks, the Denver Film Festival, the Young Filmmaker Workshop, mini-festivals such as Cinema Q and J'adore: Focus on French Cinema, and partnership programming throughout the year.
