USU Credit Union was founded in the halls of Utah State University in Logan, Utah in 1957. Originally chartered with ten members, the Credit Union was created to provide financial services for Utah State University employees and their families. Today, USU Credit Union serves Utah State University faculty, staff, students and alumni...along with their family members.
With the intent of providing members with a more robust portfolio of products and services, along with a statewide branch network, USU Credit Union strategically merged with Goldenwest Credit Union in 2013. USU Credit Union retains its name and Utah State University-affiliated brand as a Division of Goldenwest Credit Union.
Goldenwest Credit Union is a leading provider of financial products and services throughout the state of Utah. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Goldenwest is owned by its 128,000+ members. Based in Ogden since it was founded in 1936, the Credit Union holds $1.7 billion in assets, and operates 37 branches statewide, including all USU Credit Union branches in Cache County and Healthcare Credit Union branches in Salt Lake County.
