Indigo River Publishing is a modern cooperative publisher founded in 2011. We work with authors across all genres and have proudly published books from internationally recognized executives and celebrities as well as debut authors. We pride ourselves on identifying and shepherding new voices and rising talent while leading the evolution of the publishing industry’s business model. As a cooperative publisher, we’ve kept the best parts of traditional publishing (think expert editors, award-winning cover designers, and strong sales distribution), thrown away what’s not working, and created a business model that allows for true partnership between authors and publishers. Transparency and partnership are our guiding principles, and this permeates every aspect of our work—from collaborative work sessions for cover designs and integrated planning for marketing and publicity to co-funded print runs and fully transparent royalty rates that are standardized across genres and formats. Publishing a book is an expensive undertaking. Traditionally, publishers take on the financial risk of a book and, consequently, make all the decisions about how that book is published. At Indigo River Publishing, we partner with authors financially to ensure that everyone has a seat at the table. We offer expertise where it’s important and partnerships in decision-making where they’re meaningful. Our authors receive expert-level editorial and marketing support, sales distribution, and production across all formats while having an equal voice when it comes to the publishing strategy, cover design, title, and book positioning. We are proudly distributed by Simon & Schuster distribution services. This new partnership will help Indigo soar to new heights by expanding our distribution to over 38,000 retailers nationally and internationally.
