Moehl Millwork has proudly been serving Des Moines metro contractors and lumber dealers throughout Iowa, northern and western Missouri since 1964. Moehl Millwork has built a reputation for being the top supplier of quality products backed by great service. Our team of trained and experienced professionals will assist you every step of the way. Moehl Millwork offers a wide range of services ranging from commercial to residential projects. No matter the size of the project Moehl Millwork will assist you in transforming your dreams into a high-quality product delivered to your job site. Our 110,000 square foot facility in Ankeny provides easy logistical support during the production and distribution process for your project. We also have an 8,000 square foot showroom with all of our products on display. A LITTLE HISTORY The origin of Moehl Millwork goes back to 1897 when Bill Carr of Dubuque and Ernie Moehl Of Des Moines started Carr & Moehl Co. on S.W. 9th in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1964, Bob Moehl and five fellow employees left Carr & Moehl and started Moehl Millwork. Following the death of Bob Moehl in 1975 employees managed the organization until 1987. As part of Moehl Millworks growth, the company acquired Kansas City Millwork in 1991. Don Rudd purchased the company on September 30, 2000. On December 1st, 2017 Don Rudd sold Moehl Millwork and Kansas City Millwork to Building Material Distributors, Inc. (BMD). Established in 1943, BMD is a distributor and manufacturer of specialty building products and millwork. Moehl is now part of the BMD family of companies and is proud to now be 100% employee-owned.
