Dating back to 1963, our agency built its reputation on establishing long term relationships with its clients by providing quality insurance and risk management solutions aimed at reducing their total cost of risk. The foundation of our agency is built on our ethics and integrity, our knowledgeable and professional staff and our insurance carrier relationships.
Our History:
The origins of the company date back over 75 years, but it officially became Knowles Associates in 1963. Starting in the early 40’s, James J Knowles, Sr. worked as the manager for the Fitzsimmons Insurance Agency. His eldest son, Jim, joined the company in 1946 and his second son, Bob, followed in 1949. However, it wasn’t until 1963 that ownership transferred and the company became Knowles Associates. In 1968, after the passing of James Knowles, Sr., Jim and Bob Knowles formed a partnership that continued until 1982. After working for Hartford Insurance Group, Robert J. Knowles, Jr. joined Knowles Associates in 1983. He purchased the agency in 1988 and is presently the agency’s principal.
