WCET is the leader in the practice, policy, & advocacy of technology enhanced learning in higher education. WCET is a national, member-driven, non-profit which brings together colleges and universities, higher education organizations and companies to collectively improve the quality and reach of technology in higher education. WCET has a long and successful history in fostering collaborative projects, information sharing, and networking among some of the country's most established and innovative postsecondary providers of technology-enhanced learning. The cooperative was founded in 1989 by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) to meet a growing need to integrate distance learning and educational technology into the academic services of higher education institutions in the western region.
