About
Coral Vita grows resilient corals to restore our world's dying reefs. Coral reefs support up to 1 billion people, sustain 25% of marine life, and generate $30 billion annually through tourism, fisheries, and coastal protection, but they are dying rapidly. Over 30% of our world's reefs have died over the past several decades, and we are projected to lose 75% of reefs by 2050. Fortunately, coral farming has been proven to work as a viable tool to revitalize reef health. Our ultimate vision is to create a global network of land-based farms that use coral farming to produce massive quantities of coral fragments. We sell the service of restoration to clients that depend on reefs' benefits, such as hotels, cruise lines, governments, reinsurance companies, and coastal property owners. By using these farms to grow corals up to 50x natural rates while enhancing their resiliency to climate change, we can improve the impact, scale and cost-effectiveness of reef restoration and help preserve coral reefs for future generations.
