About
Created in 2006, Sprouts Cooking Club is a non-profit that empowers youth from all backgrounds to prepare wholesome meals for themselves and their communities by teaching them how to cook, hands-on, alongside real chefs using wholesome ingredients. Every year we teach over 1,000 youth how to cook healthy, affordable meals. We run nutritional cooking classes and culinary career training in the SF Bay Area, San Jose, and New York. We are proud to have a sister program, Louise Rosier, in Paris since 2014. Sprouts Chef-in-Training (CIT) Program Sprouts CIT Program provides culinary, vocational training and job application assistance to underserved young adults in the SF Bay Area, San Jose, and New York City. For 6 months youth in-need are paid to gain real-world experience directly in well-known restaurants under the tutelage of the executive chef and kitchen crew. Each 6-month Chef-in-Training costs $3,600. Our program wouldn't be possible without the financial support of foundations, corporate sponsorship, and community members like yourself who are willing to invest in the career training and future of these youth. 2019 Graduation Rate: 90% Post-Graduation Job Placement Rate: 94% Job Placement 3-5 Years After Graduation: 71% CIT Host Restaurants: Lazy Bear, La Folie, Slanted Door, Waterbar, 3rd Cousin, Pizzaiolo, Whole Foods, The Battery, and many, many more.
