Founders Network is a group dedicated to actively pursuing the means to shape the future. Wielding the forces of technology, entrepreneurship, and business, our members convert long term goals into practical and creative plans of action. Our club enables those with a drive, alongside a community of like-minded peers, to create and have an impact by opening the door to new tools like coding and new frameworks of thought.
Founders Network is a community of those excited by the ways we can shape our future. We love to discuss seemingly crazy schemes, like ones to colonize other planets or others to wire computers into our brains, and break them down into realistic plans of action. One tool our members employ to put their plans into action, is startups.
Startups have three key ingredients: the idea, the execution, and the team. To have the right team, it is critical to join the right community. Founders Network is the community for the agents of change at Western.
Our members attend our informal club meetings which run one to two times per week. While they may come to kick around an idea they've been thinking about, these meetings are also a great place to get some school work done among friends before heading home or heading to the spoke for some food. Our formal socials run monthly and usually take place at a restaurant or bar.
We organize a number of annual events:
- Future View Conference
- Technology Consulting Case Competition (Previous partners: IBM & Microsoft)
- Western Startup Showcase
- Technology Workshops (Past topics include: intro to iOS development & Data science introduction)
