About
The Knox School has been adding to its family since 1904. Founded in Briarcliff Manor, New York, by Mary Alice Knox, the School has always been located in New York State. It moved to Tarrytown and then to Cooperstown before moving to its current location in St. James on Long Island's North Shore in 1954. The serene wooded campus, which exceeds 50 acres with extensive waterfront property, rests on a small peninsula between beautiful Long Island Sound and Stony Brook Harbor. Throughout its history, The Knox School has been dedicated to meeting the needs of individual students. Significant emphasis has always been placed on developing the whole person through academic, athletic, and cultural pursuits. Our small class size, personalized attention, strong liberal arts program, and diverse extra-curricular activities continue to make this goal a reality. Incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, The Knox School is directed by a Board of Trustees who, along with over 2,500 alumni, are dedicated to maintaining the School's commitment to college preparation and the personal development of students toward another century of motivated teaching and learning. The Knox School is a community where you can expand your vision of who you are and what you can do. Within a supportive and encouraging environment, students can explore a wealth of new possibilities and experiences. Click on the links above to learn more.
