Mission Statement The mission of the Department of Correctional Services is to serve and protect the public by providing control, humane care and program opportunities for those individuals placed in its custody and supervision, thereby facilitating their return to society as responsible persons. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) maintains and administers facilities for the custody and control of persons committed to the department and supervises persons on parole. General Information The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) operates ten facilities in Nebraska to house convicted persons sentenced to its custody. They are: - Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW); York, NE - Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP); Lincoln, NE - Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC); Lincoln, NE - Community Corrections Center - Lincoln (CCC-L); Lincoln, NE - Diagnostic & Evaluation Center (DEC); Lincoln, NE - Omaha Correctional Center (OCC); Omaha, NE - Community Corrections Center - Omaha (CCC-L); Omaha, NE - Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF); Omaha, NE - Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI); Tecumseh, NE - Work Ethic Camp (WEC); McCook, NE NDCS also operates the Adult Parole Administration (APA), which supervises individuals in the community on parole.
