Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization committed to eliminating hunger and developing collaborative strategies to encourage self-reliance in southwestern Pennsylvania. We accomplish this mission by: Serving as a central collection facility for grocery products and distributing them to member agencies serving the needy in southwestern Pennsylvania; Involving the community as food donors, volunteers and financial supporters of the Food Bank and our member agencies; Working collaboratively with others on programs that empower the needy to meet their own nutritional needs; and Communicating the nature of and solutions to the problem of hunger.
