Snape Maltings is a place of energy and inspiration one of the world's leading centres of music and a visitor destination of outstanding natural beauty.
The creative campus is home to a year-round programme with a unique artistic model. Having grown out of the Aldeburgh Festival, it has realised founder Benjamin Britten's vision for an international centre of music whose performance programme makes its mark on the world's stage and which has artist development, learning and community inclusion as its creative engine. The programme ranges from development opportunities for musicians at all career stages to work that explores music's ability to have a positive impact on people's lives when they need it most.
For visitors, Snape Maltings brings together outstanding concerts and events, distinctive independent shops, cafes, galleries, walks and river trips, all set against a breathtaking expanse of reeds, water and sky.

In 2016 Aldeburgh Music and Snape Maltings joined to create a single organisation and unified site.
Arts and retail co-existed on the Snape Maltings site for nearly 50 years. Until 2016 the two parts of the site were run by separate organisations Aldeburgh Music operating Snape Maltings Concert Hall and a vibrant creative campus, and the Gooderham Family running its award-winning independent retail business under the name of Snape Maltings.
In 2015 the Gooderham family put the site, including the retail business, up for sale and Aldeburgh Music was able to purchase it with the support of Arts Council England. The purchase gave Aldeburgh Music the opportunity to protect the integrity and heritage of the site and to safeguard its future.
Ahead of the 50th anniversary of Snape Maltings Concert Hall in 2017, the process of unifying the site has begun. The two organisations have become one and are now known by the single name, Snape Maltings.
