Reed Illinois Corporation has been a family owned business since 1893 and currently employs the fifth generation of family members. Founded by Thomas A. Reed, who migrated to Chicago in search of plastering work at the Chicago Worlds Fair, the company continuted to grow during the next two generations, completing maintenance contracts and intricate plastering work in some of Chicago's most prestigious buildings.
