About
Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is the control agency during emergency response to flood, storm, earthquake and tsunami in Victoria, and is the largest provider of road crash rescue in the state. We also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important support role during major bushfire responses. In addition to providing support on the ground, VICSES plays an important role in assisting municipal councils and their communities with emergency management plans, providing advice, information, education and training. VICSES is made up of professional staff and dedicated volunteers from all ages and backgrounds. Their common link is a desire to work as part of a team that gives back to the community they live in. Our 5,000 volunteers are supported by approximately 200 full-time staff based in the organisation's regional headquarters and offices around Victoria, and at the Victorian Head Office in Sturt Street, Southbank. VICSES volunteers and professional staff share a dedication to our core values: integrity, trust, respect, responsive and innovative. Discover the benefits of a public service career with the Victoria SES. Because we select on merit, you'll find that our workforce is diverse, talented and highly skilled.
