SASKY Municipal Education and Training Consortium provides vocational training for both youth and adults at the national level. The Consortium provides training, that from the perspective of its member municipalities'? and region's residents and business and industry, are deemed as useful, diverse and of high-quality. The Consortium provides basic vocational training and further training both in the form of on-campus and as apprentice indenture. There are currently 3100 students at the vocational youth level and 900 students at the adult education level. The Consortium's yearly turnover is about 40 million euros and has 650 faculty and staff. SASKY Municipal Education and Training Consortium is also a strong general education provider. The central task of vocational training is to provide the student with the professional skills needed in one's vocation. Vocational training also gives the student preparedness for continuing education and lifelong learning. General and further vocational training also include development and service activities which support the development of businesses and other workplaces, which in turn promote workplace-oriented approaches to innovation activities.
