Robert E. Wollack was a student at Ann Arbor while at the same time working with adolescents in a group home setting. From 1976 to 1978 he attended the University of Michigan School of Social Work receiving his MSW in interpersonal practice with a minor in administration. Following this, he received post graduate training at training at the University of Michigan Business School and at Kansas University in behavior modification and group work focusing on the adolescent target population. Throughout this period he continued his work with troubled kids in the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas. After graduation, he held several jobs including one in an outward bound wilderness adventure program as well as working for the State of Michigan as a clinical social worker. In 1980, he began working for Boysville of Michigan as a Program Director in a large group home for 28 males.
