The mission of the YWCA of Black Hawk County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
Officially chartered on December 6, 1911, the YWCA of Black Hawk County is celebrating our 100th Year in 2011. Our organization serves more than 7,000 women, children and their families each year through before and after school child care, all day summer child care, health and fitness classes (both land and aquatic), youth and family programs including parent and youth development, and Latino services providing case management and translation to the Latino community.
