As a sugar company, it remained successful for twenty-five years. In 1945, Maurice Kellner passed away, leaving the company to his son, H.J. (Hack) Kellner. H.J. Kellner turned the company into an institutional food business with a diversified array of items. Under H.J. Kellner's leadership, the company enjoyed continued success. His philosophy had been slow, but steady growth. This philosophy has put the company on a very solid foundation and Hack passed this same philosophy onto his son William (Bill) L. Kellner.
