MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the non-profit Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). The special purpose of MAPS PBC is to balance the research and clinical development objectives with the social benefits of MAPS' mission by serving as a vehicle for conducting MAPS' psychedelic and marijuana research initiatives. MAPS PBC's primary work is completing clinical studies of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD, and preparing for the pathway to licensure for MDMA-assisted therapy as an approved treatment for PTSD and other anxiety-related disorders. In addition, MAPS PBC is also investigating marijuana as a treatment for PTSD in Veterans through upcoming clinical trials. MAPS will continue to conduct education and harm reduction projects to raise funds for MAPS PBC projects, and serve as the parent organization and sole funder of MAPS PBC. MAPS PBC was incorporated on December 19, 2014.
