For more than 20 years, Renaissance Social Services, Inc. (RSSI) has been serving men, women and families in Chicago who are struggling with homelessness and disability. We provide safe and quality housing to people in need and offer a wide range of services so they can remain housed and achieve greater health and stability. We also provide emergency financial assistance to men and women in crisis, and invest in prevention efforts through programs that target seniors and veterans who are at increased risk of becoming homeless.
The services provided by RSSI not only help people get back on their feet and discover a new sense of hope, but also save communities money and other resources. That’s because people who live on the streets tend to be frequent users of high-cost health care and public services. With their housing needs met, people who were previously homeless make far fewer unplanned trips to the hospital or emergency room and are less likely to be picked up by law enforcement for petty offenses.
