Since 1953, Grado Labs has been family run and hand-built in Brooklyn, New York. The Grado family has seen three generations over the past 60 years join the company: from the days of Joseph Grado building phono cartridges on his kitchen table when Grado was a fruit store, to John Grado building the first Grado headphones. The Brooklyn company hasn't advertised since 1964, relying on a friend telling a friend to grow. The tradition and heritage passed down have also instilled the philosophy that sound comes first.
