The Pomperaug Regional School District #15 is a public school district serving the towns of Middlebury and Southbury, Connecticut.
On December 16, 1968, the regional school district was formed, bringing the two towns together.
Today, there is one high school (Pomperaug High School), two middle schools (Memorial Middle School and Rochambeau Middle School), and four elementary schools (Gainfield E.S., Middlebury E.S., Long Meadow E.S., and Pomperaug E.S.).
The central office is located at the Mary I. Johnson School on Whittemore Road in Middlebury. The alternative education program is also located at the MIJ school.
Region 15 Schools offers an academically rigorous curriculum, individual and team athletics programs that build a student’s self-confidence and competitive spirit, and myriad performing and visual arts programs that have been honored at local, state and national levels. About 95 percent of the graduating seniors continue their formal educations. They compete favorably for admittance to highly competitive colleges and universities throughout the nation. PHS has a 94% graduation rate.
Newsweek Magazine recently rated Region 15's high school as the 22nd best in the State of Connecticut, and is consistently rated in the top 20 CT high schools by U.S. News & World Report.
