Spirit Aerosystems is expected to lay off hundreds of employees tomorrow, according to a union leader. Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) Executive Director Ray Goforth told KAKE News the layoffs involve 300 employees throughout the company, but will not include workers in stress and structures and supply chain management. "It makes no sense," said Goforth. "With the rate increases at the Boeing Company and Airbus, Spirit should be on a hiring spree not laying people off without notice.
