The Mission of the Florida Forest Service is to protect Florida and its people from the dangers of wildland fire and manage the forest resources through a stewardship ethic to assure they are available for future generations. \r\n\r\nStrategic Goals\r\n + Provide leadership to protect forests, wildlands, and the public from the destructive effects of wildfire.\r\n + Promote sound forest management practices, which maintain the integrity of the invironment and provide for \r\n Florida's future natural resource needs.\r\n + Educate the public about the importance of Florida's forests and promote the renewal and protection of these \r\n resources.\r\n + Manage public lands for their unique character and to provide multiple public benefits.\r\n + Encourage Florida's communities to establish and perpetuate their urban forests.\r\n + Encourage family forest owners to attain their forestland management goals with guidance and technical \r\n assistance that promotes good land stewardship principles.\r\n + Improve the quality of service through the training and development of our people - our single greatest \r\n resource. This leadership will encourage innovation, excellence and freedom for personal growth.\r\n\r\nWe provide Statewide coverage for wildland fire response and provide structural fire response in two counties.
