Jo-Kell Inc. was established in 1977 by Joseph A. Kelly. The main office was located in Norfolk, VA with branches in Charleston, SC and Jacksonville, FL. In our early years, Jo-Kell was strictly a wholesaler/reseller of electrical and mechanical equipment. However, with the appointment of Jo-Kell as a distributor for ITE Gould’s System Protection Division, Jo-Kell began to create a niche market in the shipboard electrical industry. In the mid-eighties, other manufacturers became interested in Jo-Kell Inc. including, Cutler Hammer, Pauluhn, Camlok, Aeromotive, Payne Engineering, Sigmaform, and Raychem to name a few.
