Metro Mining Limited is an Australian exploration & mining company based in Brisbane, Queensland. The company has major bauxite projects in Cape York and one of Australia's largest thermal coal resources in Queensland's Surat Basin. Metro's immediate focus is its Bauxite Hills Project approximately 95 kilometers north of Weipa in the world renowned high-quality, export-grade bauxite Cape York region of Queensland. Metro controls approximately 1,300 square kilometers of exploration tenements - the largest tenement holding in the region outside the Rio Tinto's Alcan mining leases. The Bauxite Hills PFS confirms a +13 year mine life based on existing DSO resources of 53.6 Mt with potential to extend mine life utilising an 11.7 Mt Indicated Resource at a nearby deposit, and from further exploration. Bauxite Hills has the potential for a low capital, simple and low cost mining operation with attractive margins. Traditional Owner Agreements, Transshipping Contracts and the Pre-feasibility Study (PFS) have been completed. Work on a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for annual production up to five million tonnes per annum is currently underway with final EIS approval for the expected by the last quarter of 2016. Production is targeted to commence in the last quarter of 2017. Metro has secured a non-binding memorandum of understanding to sell bauxite to Xinfa Group, one of the largest integrated aluminium companies in China.Metro Mining Limited Address
