About
The Georg-August-Universität Göttingen was founded in 1737 and is one of the oldest universities in Germany. The roots of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences go back to the 18th century. In the winter semester 1951/52, it was established as the seventh faculty with the spin-off of already existing agricultural disciplines from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The research and teaching profile of the faculty is characterized by a system-oriented approach to agricultural land use in temperate, tropical and subtropical regions. Important problems of a future-oriented and sustainable land use are dealt with, such as a sufficient and balanced food supply for the world population and the careful use of natural resources. This comprehensive research and teaching claim can be fulfilled due to the existing breadth of the natural and social science disciplines of the faculty. Accordingly, it represents the basis for the formation of its current research foci. Imprint: https://www.uni-goettingen.de/de/impressum/79535.html
