CARE of Southeastern Michigan's mission is to strengthen resiliency in people and their communities through prevention, education, and services that improve the quality of life. Founded in 1977, CARE of Southeastern Michigan has been providing a variety of services and programs to improve the lives of individuals who have been impacted by the misuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Each year CARE touches the lives of over 25,000 individuals in the region. Programs fall into three departments within the agency: Clinical Services, Prevention and Community Programs, and employee assistance. Clinical services include case management services, Peer Recovery Coach program, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder services, substance abuse assessments (including Secretary of State and other court ordered evaluations), and student assistance services. Prevention and Community Programs include school based programming, parent education, prisoner reentry services, community organizing, early childhood programs, and other skill building activities. Employee Assistance includes training, problem solving sessions, web based services, and consultation.
