aUToronto is an elite group of engineering students collaborating to make the future of autonomous vehicles a reality.
The team was formed to compete in the GM/SAE Autodrive challenge, a three-year competition between eight North American collegiate institutions to design and develop a level 3 autonomous car. As the only student organization at the university dedicated to developing this self-driving technology, aUToronto provides students with a unique foundation to join the frontrunners of the industry. By taking the challenges and complexities of the competition head-on, members of the team have every opportunity to develop technical and professional skills that will prove crucial upon graduation.
In September, aUToronto will begin work on a Chevrolet Bolt EV, donated by GM for the competition.
By mid-April 2018, the team will have a system ready to compete in the first stage of the Autodrive challenge.
