About
In 1986, the Northwest Buffalo Community Center responded to the growing need of the Black Rock/Riverside community in the City of Buffalo (census tracts 55 through 59) by submitting and receiving a Public Health Service 330 Grant from the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA)/Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). This grant was to establish Northwest Buffalo Community Health Care Center (NWBCHCC) as a private, not-for-profit, Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center for the purpose of providing primary health care services. NWBCHCC became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is licensed by the NYS Department of Health and incorporated as a 501C-3 organization managed by an Executive Director with volunteer Board of Directors’ oversight.
