Charlotte Hall Veterans Home provides an Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing long-term care facility for Maryland Veterans and eligible spouses who are unable to take care of themselves due to age or disability. The Home will provide the support and services required for shelter, sustenance, medical care, and social services necessary to maintain the resident's medical condition and quality of life. When practicable, the Home will endeavor to improve the resident's medical condition with the goal of restoring independence and a return to the community.
Charlotte Hall is a program of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA). The Maryland Veterans Home Commission provides additional oversight and functions as an advisory body to the Secretary, MDVA. The Home is operated under contract with the State of Maryland by Health Management Resources of Maryland, LLC (HMR). The Home is managed by the Director of the Veterans Home Program, an employee of the MDVA, and the Administrator, employed by HMR.
