Mission IPTAR's mission is to train candidates to become adult psychoanalysts or child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapists, and to make training possible for candidates without a clinical mental health background, through respecialization training. In addition, IPTAR addresses community needs through its low-fee clinic, which services individuals, schools, and asylum seekers. IPTAR also provides a psychoanalytic and scholarly community for analysts and candidates. It seeks to further the cause of psychoanalysis through psychoanalytic research and community outreach.
