DeCrescente Distributing Company has a long and interesting history in Mechanicville, NY. In 1948 Angelo DeCrescente and his wife Josephine started their family’s distributing company in their home and with one truck, selling such brands as Fitzgerald’s, Carling, Kruger, and Miller High Life. Founded on the principles of being the very best at servicing the needs of its suppliers and its customers, DDC is now a third-generation company committed to servicing its people and its community. Angelo’s son Carmine DeCrescente, Sr. became president of the company in 1973, after working many years as Sales Manager. Angelo worked alongside Carmine for the next several years, retiring in 1975. Carmine Sr.’s wife Mary DeCrescente also worked in their company and was the proverbial “great woman behind the man.” The company continued to grow through expansion and acquisition under Carmine’s leadership and broke the 1 Million Case sales mark in 1987. Family pride and heritage continued as Carmine’s son, C.J. DeCrescente Jr. became General Manager in 1988 The previous 9 years C.J. worked in various positions as truck driver, merchandiser, sales representative, and supervisor (like his father). In 1997, Carmine appointed C.J. as President of DeCrescente Distributing Company, and C.J. is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations. Continuing with the sound foundations begun by his grandfather and his father, C.J.’s active leadership style, major acquisitions and support of innovative technology to help both operations and sales has led the company to become one of the most proficient beer and soda distribution centers in Northeastern New York. Three of his four children are employed in the company. Today, DeCrescente Distributing Company services a distribution territory that includes 11 counties spanning 7500 square miles. It is through the hard work and dedication of more than 350 employees that DDC successfully warehouses, sells, delivers and merchandises over 1o million cases of beverage products annually (Beer and Soft Drink) to over 4,000 customers. DeCrescente Distributing Company is entering a new era in its history. It currently operates in 205,000 square feet of facility, but with over 60 years of excellence under its belt, the company is now poised to lead the industry into the future with a building project that will expand its facility and its Conference Center, as well as its innovative Wellness & Fitness Center. What all started with one man and one truck has emerged today as an industry leader.
