The history of NLMK Indiana is one of continuous improvement and expansion: 1992: Commissioned the Hot Strip Mill operation as a slab converter. 1997: Commissioned the new Melt Shop Operation (electric arc furnace, ladle metallurgy furnace, slab caster). 2000: Expanded product offering and improved quality performance via new oxygen injection system in the EAF and installation of a new coil box at the Hot Strip Mill. 2001: Achieved original ISO 9002:2001 certification. 2004: Upgraded the Continuous Caster. 2006 / 2007: ‘Big Coil Project’ – $86MM expenditure at both the Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill targeting increased product capability offering, improved product quality, increased equipment reliability and reduction of maintenance costs. 2009: Acquisition by NLMK Russia. 2010: Name change from Beta Steel to NLMK Indiana and became part of NLMK USA (including NLMK Pennsylvania and Sharon Coating). 2010 / 2011: Significant expansion of product offerings into high carbon and alloy grades, new grades of HSLA, boron-treated steels and API 5L / 5CT ‘Oil Country Tubular Goods’ product types. 2011 / 2012: New Oracle ERP implementation coupled with complete overhaul and enhancement of internal processes from Accounting through Operations and Quality leading to a marked improvement in functional efficiency of the facility.NLMK USA Address
