Solace is the representative body for senior strategic managers working in the public sector. We are committed to public sector excellence. We provide our members with opportunities for personal and professional development and seek to influence the debate about the future of public services to ensure that policy and legislation reflect the experience and expertise of our members. Solace companies comprise a membership organisation, a commercial services arm and a charitable trust. Solace in Business (SiB), formerly Solace Enterprises Limited, is the commercial services arm of Solace, and is a well established and successful consultancy specialising in supporting the public sector. Solely owned by Solace, Solace in Business operates commercially on `not-for-profit` business principles, reinvesting any surplus income to fund public sector research, policy development and promoting the high level skills training needed to be a modern manager in public service. Although initially specialising in local government SiB have for a number of years worked right across the public sector providing resourcing, development and organisational consultancy to a wide range of organisations. Customers of SiB include local councils, health trusts, police, fire and rescue, housing voluntary sector organisations and private sector service providers.
