About
Anna Maria College is a four-year, private, co-ed, Catholic institution accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Founded by the Sisters of Saint Anne in 1946, the College is located in the heart of New England on a 190-acre campus in Paxton, Mass., minutes from the vibrant college town of Worcester. The college provides quality academic programs that integrate a liberal arts education with career preparation. Anna Maria College has grown to offer a variety of undergraduate majors, as well as many graduate and certificate programs, both on-ground and online. The small student-faculty ratio allows for a highly personalized learning experience, while the modest class and campus size allow for optimal student involvement. Anna Maria is a close-knit community offering 35+ undergraduate degree programs and over 22 graduate and continuing education programs. Committed to a core curriculum that fosters critical and integrated thinking, Anna Maria offers academic excellence with respected faculty and class sizes averaging 15 students, enabling faculty and students to work and learn effectively together. Popular majors include art and music therapy, business, criminal justice, education, fire science, legal studies, nursing, paramedic science, psychology, social work, sport management, and more. The college also offers an Honors Program and unique study-abroad opportunities. It is a member of a 12-college Consortium that allows students to cross-register at other Consortium colleges at no additional cost. Co-curricular programs abound at AMC including 17 Division III varsity sports teams: men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, lacrosse, golf, soccer and tennis, men’s baseball and football, and women’s field hockey, softball and volleyball. The New England setting of Paxton offers students the best of both worlds: a relaxed environment in which to live and study, and close proximity to Worcester, home to 10 other colleges and universities. AMC students can enjoy all that AMC campus life has to offer and also partake in the excitement of the Worcester area, including concerts at the DCU Center and the Palladium, skiing at nearby Wachusett Mountain, art exhibits at the world-class Worcester Art Museum and great restaurants in Worcester’s growing downtown. AMC is also a short drive to Boston, Cape Cod, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. The Office of Admission strongly encourages tours of the campus and attending an open house and accepted student day programs. Students can schedule a visit by calling 1-800-344-4586. Applications are accepted online at www.annamaria.edu/ admissions with a priority deadline of March 1 for full consideration of scholarships and housing. Requirements for the admission application include high school transcript (including first marking period), essay and one recommendation. AMC is a test-optional college with the exception of nursing and paramedic science. Fast Facts
