iCAD, Inc., formerly Howtek, Inc, sells and supports medical imaging systems worldwide. The Company focuses on women's health initiatives, particularly the computer-aided detection (CAD) of breast cancer. During 2002, iCAD expanded its product offerings with the acquisition of Intelligent Systems Software Inc., a software company offering CAD systems for breast cancer. CAD systems include software technology and a radiographic film digitizer manufactured by iCAD, together with standard computer and display equipment. iCAD also manufactures medical film digitizers for a variety of medical imaging and other applications. Howtek Devices Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary, manufactures and promotes film digitizer products to third-party customers. In July 2002, the Company, then Howtek, Inc., merged with Intelligent Systems Software, Inc., a privately held company, and changed its name to iCAD, Inc. In January 2004, iCAD merged with privately held CADx and Qualia (together, CADx).
