About
Chartered in 1937, KCT Credit Union was formed through the tireless efforts of Miss Martha Black, a teacher in the then Elgin Public Schools District, and Mr. E. Earl McCoy, then Kane County Superintendent of Schools. Since that day we have been dedicated to living the credit union philosophy of people helping people. KCT is a credit union, which means we are not-for-profit. We don’t serve shareholders on Wall Street. Instead we serve you, our member-owners. KCT is owned by all of our members, each owning an equal share in the successes of the credit union through low interest rates on loans and high interest rates on savings. KCT also believes in the principle of serving our member-owners with financial literacy and education. We know that your financial health is just as important your physical health. This is why we are advocates for our member-owners in times of economic turmoil, and why we have the ability to create individualized loan and savings products to meet your needs. KCT offers an environment where people care about each other like family. That’s pretty unique in the competitive financial services industry. The most resounding reason people love working at KCT is the ability to build and leverage high-impact relationships. We share a common set of values focused on membership, service, integrity, community, and education. This is reflected in our tenured staff and ongoing recognition at local and national levels across a wide array of industries. Our values drive our mission: to provide for the well-being of our members. We achieve this by working collaboratively towards the common goal of member education and advocacy.
